Our Field teams are critical in the delivery of our contracts, whether that is delivering or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling or civils works. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.Reporting into the Regional Manager, the Traffic Maintenance (Engineering) Supervisor will lead a small team of Engineers who are responsible for delivering our maintenance contracts with Newcastle Council.This role require travel in the North East (Newcastle and surrounding areas) on a daily basis.What youll do:Lead a small team of Trainee Traffic Maintenance EngineersManage controller builds and liaising with engineering team on configurationsResponsible for implementing and maintaining test rigsTechnical lead in the depo, coordinating new technologies before they go to streetProvide support to the Contract Managers to ensure that the contracts are delivering on time and within budgetWorking alone and with colleagues to the highest standards to maintain signals equipmentTo reduce the overall fault rates within our traffic signals maintenance contractsSupporting Contract Managers to ensure engineers have correct stock on vans to complete first time fixLiaising with maintenance engineers and Contract Manager to ensure repeat fault rate is kept to a minimumWho you are:You will have previous experience in a Supervisor / Team Leader role, ideally gained within the Traffic / Highways / Telecoms / Utilities industry. You are a motivational people manager, with the ability to get the best out of your team whilst ensuring health & safety, compliance and customer satisfaction are at the heart of what you do.Key Requirements:Electrical Engineering experience is beneficialKnowledge around traffic signal equipment specifications is highly desirableExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to act under pressure and provide good customer satisfaction.Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Highways Electrical, City & Guilds diploma (or HNC/HND) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or BS 7671 / 18th Edition are desirable.Full driving licenseIT skills Proficient in Excel / word / RMS systemsWhat we offer:A career at Telent can span many sectors, roles, technologies and clients giving you the opportunity to develop, learn new skills and make an impact.
